Edifici di culto a Opitergium: tracce e suggestioni
Abstract
This contribution first considers the main indicators of sacred structures and buildings, whose presence within the municipium of Opitergium is indirectly hypothesised either through epigraphic documentation or on the basis of weak archaeological evidence, as in the case of the Capitolium. The work therefore focuses on the illustration of the excavation conducted between 1998 and 2001 in the area of the disused Municipal Stadium of Oderzo. The remains brought to light made it possible to formulate the reconstructive hypothesis of a monumental sanctuary of Hellenistic matrix, consisting of a temple of Etruscan-Italic tradition, datable to around 40 B.C., enclosed within a triporticus and overlooking a square.
