Abstract

From the Iberian Peninsula to Italy, extending as far as the island of Malta, from the fourth century BC to the fourth century AD, the various contributions have certainly covered vast spaces and times, but following perspectives that have allowed significant analogies to be constructed and common issues to be raised. Two perspectives in particular give this book its coherence: an interest in periods of transformation – if we wish to avoid using the overly uniform term ‘Romanisation’ – and the choice of localised studies, which allow us to grasp more precisely in both epigraphic and archaeological documentation the processes generally studied on a larger scale.
