Symphonies of Labour: Opera Traces Inside and Outside the Walls of the Factory
Abstract
This contribution intends to investigate how the investigative cinema of the 1960s and 1970s reinterprets melodrama in a radical way, taking it on as the main dramaturgical modality: for its aesthetics as a symbol of a culture, of a landscape; for its being a mass genre (in the century of mass communication); for its assumption of performance, of the register of representation, as the constitutive ontological principle of the device. The form of remediation enacted gives shape to a trace, according to the Derridean reading.
