Capitolo | La Philomathia di Angelo Michele Salimbeni e Sebastiano Aldrovandi: cenni di analisi
Abstract
Philomathia is a composition of prose and poetry in the form of a collection of letters by two mysterious, almost unknown authors: Angelo Michele Salimbeni and Sebastiano Aldrovandi. It belongs to 15th-century Bologna cultural milieu, a context which lacks of a proper critical attention. We hereby try to provide a general overview about this peculiar work through a synthetic analysis of its texts, its language, and its context. This article is part of a wider project whose aim is an annotated critical edition.
