Peter John Rhodes (1940-2021), Professor of Ancient History at the University of Durham (1983-2005) and Emeritus Professor since then. Rhodes specialized in political institutions, history of classical Athens and ancient Greek politics. From 2014 to 2015, he served as president of the Classical Association.
