Research Article | Language Centres in Italian Universtities: A Survey
Abstract
Cultures, multilingualism, internationality are the keywords of a University Language Centre. Raising awareness of the relevant concepts conveyed by these words is a key role that University Language Centres play. Language Centres implement actions in favour of a multilingual and multicultural society and offer a contribution in the fields of didactic for language learning, ICT, research on linguistic and pedagogical issues, internationalization, autonomous learning, project planning, assessment of language competences. Yet, one of the most important objectives that Language Centres should pursue is cooperation among themselves. This can be easily created through a network of common actions aimed at transferring knowledge of languages and awareness of cultures to the new generation.
