Editar el teatro de Gil Vicente
Entre problemas lingüísticos, métricos y de segmentación
Abstract
Gil Vicente’s theatrical works, largely preserved in a volume published several years after his death, have traditionally been edited with great conservatism despite the numerous textual challenges they present. Although fully recovering the poet’s original readings is nearly impossible, this article, using Comedia del viudo as a case study, proposes a thorough revision of Vicente’s texts to distinguish transmission errors from inherent vacillations and irregularities, allowing for their correction or, at the very least, critical commentary.
