Chapter | Translating Architecture into Images
Abstract
Considering the status of image that architecture representation predominantly assumes when subjected to an act of display, this paper aims not only to analyse the cultural circumstances for the transfiguration of architecture into images in the context of the architectural exhibition, but also to explore the conceptual and pragmatic consequences of this visual translation. Expanding from this research frame, this study will develop a critical discourse around the strategies of mediating and creating architectural culture through images, while also serving as a theoretical foundation to propose methods to resituate architecture in the exhibition.
