Sacra privata ad Opitergium tra attestazioni e attribuzioni
Abstract
The contribution draws on excavation records, archival sources, and artifacts preserved in museum collections to identify traces and evidence of cultic practices that may be understood as forms of sacra privata in Opitergium. Despite the challenges posed by the near-total absence of standing structures, the fragmentary nature of the surviving pictorial evidence, and the continuous occupation of almost all sites over the centuries, the study combines the analysis of excavation documentation with the reassessment of decontextualized finds, which can nonetheless provide valuable insights for a preliminary interpretation of Opitergium’s sacra privata.
