La duchessa di Urbino (1967) de Ruggero Jacobbi, una ‘libre reducción’ de La boba para los otros y discreta para sí de Lope de Vega
Abstract
On 11 July 1967 opened in Pisa La Duchessa di Urbino, a free reduction of La boba para los otros y discreta para sí by Lope de Vega, written around 1630 and published in 1635 (Parte XXI). Ruggero Jacobbi, author of the adaptation, also translated and directed it. To date, despite the 2003 publication of Jacobbi’s text edited by Anna Dolfi, there is a lack of studies aimed at translation and adaptation strategies, as the concentration in two acts, the insertion of a dramatic frame, the cuts and additions, the reorganization of the characters and the linguistic registers, the strategies for reworking the text from verse to prose. The present intervention aims to fill this gap.
