Monograph | Modelling the Rhythm of Neolithisation Between the Carpathians and the Dnieper River
Chapter | 5 • Conclusion
Abstract
The available data supports a discontinuous model of Neolithisation in southern Eastern Europe. Establishing sustainable agriculture in this region required multiple attempts, each progressively covering a larger area. Over time, the Neolithic way of life became a foundational aspect not only for early farming societies but also for their Steppe neighbours, who possessed a distinctly different genetic composition.
