Commentary on Book 4. With an Introduction by Stuart Jones (1867-1939), classical scholar and lexicographer. From 1890 to 1906, Stuart Jones was a Fellow of Trinity College, and between 1903 and 1905, he served as Director of the British School at Rome. In 1919, he was appointed Camden Professor of Ancient History and became a Fellow of Brasenose College, Oxford. In 1927, he assumed the position of Principal of the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth. He was knighted in 1933. A Fellow of the British Academy from 1915, he also served as President of the Society for the Promotion of Roman Studies from 1926 to 1929. From 1925 to 1940, he was the editor-in-chief of the new edition of Liddell and Scott’s Greek-English Lexicon. ODNB
