Thukydid: Den peloponnesiske Krig

Adam Schwartz (1973-), cassical philologist and historian. Schwartz was educated at the University of Copenhagen, where he obtained an MA in Greek and Latin in 2001 and later completed his PhD in 2005 with a dissertation on Greek hoplite warfare (Re-staging the hoplite: Arms, armour and phalanx fighting in Archaic and Classical Greece). He has held academic positions at the Saxo Institute, University of Copenhagen, where he has worked as postdoctoral researcher and lecturer in Greek and Latin since 2006, becoming a lecturer in 2013. His research focuses on Archaic and Classical Greek history, especially hoplite warfare, early Greek literacy, oral culture, and the socio-political structures of ancient Greek society. Since 2012, Schwartz has been producing a long-term academic translation of Thucydides into Danish, published incrementally in the journal AIGIS.
