With a Preface by Selahattin Hilav (1928-2025), philosopher, literary critic, essayist, and translator. Hilav studied philosophy at Istanbul University and later attended courses at the Sorbonne in Paris between 1954 and 1958. After returning to Turkey, he worked as a journalist, translator, editor, and contributor to major encyclopedic and publishing projects. He was one of the most influential mediators of modern philosophical thought in twentieth-century Turkey. His work focused on philosophy, literary criticism, aesthetics, and intellectual history, and he contributed in introducing and discussing Marxist, existentialist, and modern European thought in the Turkish cultural sphere. He translated numerous authors, including Sartre, Engels, Schopenhauer, Freud, Diderot, Foucault, Kojève, and Roger Garaudy.
