Translation from Lévesque 1795 published together with the Xenophon translations by Gail and by Courier.

Edited by Jean‑Alexandre C. Buchon (1791-1846), historian, philologist, and editor. A politically engaged intellectual in post-Revolutionary France, Buchon participated in the liberal movements of the Restoration period and later turned his attention to historical scholarship. Buchon is known for his work on medieval and Renaissance sources, particularly for editing and publishing rare or overlooked texts related to the history of France and its relations with the Eastern Mediterranean. He undertook extensive travels in Italy and Greece in the 1820s and 1830s, during which he collected manuscripts and conducted research on the French presence in the Levant and on the Crusades. In addition to French chronicles, Buchon published editions of Greek and Latin sources, as well as translations and commentaries. Treccani/#google_vignette)
