Introduction by Renzo Tosi (1951-), Professor of Greek Philology at the University of Bologna, specialized in ancient exegesis, the indirect tradition of classical texts, lexicography, scholiography, paremiography, and the history of classical scholarship. Tosi graduated in Classics from Bologna in 1973, with a thesis on Thucydidean glosses in Hesychius' Lexicon. He became Full Professor in 2000.
