Martin Hammond (1944-), classical scholar, former Head of Classics and Master in College at Eton College. Hammond was also Headmaster of City of London School and Tonbridge School, Kent. He has translated numerous classical works, including Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, Marcus Aurelius' Meditations and Flavius Josephus' The Jewish War.

Peter John Rhodes (1940-2021), Professor of Ancient History at the University of Durham (1983-2005) and Emeritus Professor since then. Rhodes specialized in political institutions, history of classical Athens and ancient Greek politics. From 2014 to 2015, he served as president of the Classical Association. He was also Fellow of the Fondazione Lorenzo Valla, an honorary member of the Greek Epigraphic Society and Fellow of the British Academy. BritAc
