Charles Forster Smith (1852-1931), classical philologist, Professor of Latin and Greek at Williams College (1881), Professor of Modern Foreign Languages and Greek at Vanderbilt University, and from 1894 Professor of Classical Philology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
