Pietro Manzi (1785-1839), magistrate and scholar. From 1831, Manzi served as president of the Commercial Court of Civitavecchia. Alongside his legal career, he nurtured literary and archaeological interests: he was a member of the Accademia dell'Arcadia, a fellow of the Institut de France, and a member of the Institute of Archaeological Correspondence. He was the author of several works on classics.

Translation from Manzi 1830-1832, with a new commentary by Corio.
