Kenzo Fujinawa (1929-2000), classical scholar and Professor Emeritus at Kyoto University. Fujinawa specialised in ancient Greek history and conducted research on the intellectual, social, and cultural history of Greece from Homer to Euripides. He also played a leading role in the establishment and publication of the Seiyō Koten Sōsho (Western Classics Series) issued by Kyoto University Press.

Yoshikazu Shiroe (1957-), classical scholar, lecturer in the Department of Language and Cultural Studies at Shitennoji University. Previously, Shiroe served as a lecturer in the Department of Western Classical Languages and Literature at the Faculty of Letters, Kyoto University. He published a translation of Thucydides as well as several works on Homeric epic.
