Antoni Bronikowski (1817-1884), philologist, translator, and secondary school teacher. Bronikowski graduated at the University of Wrocław. He taught at the Gymnasium of St Mary Magdalene in Poznań and at the Royal Catholic Gymnasium in Ostrów. Besides Thucydides, he translated Plato's dialogues. His work contributed to the dissemination of Greek historiography and philosophy among nineteenth-century Polish intellectual circles, although his translations were sometimes noted for their literalism and archaizing language.

Only Books 1-2. Bronikowski published a complete translation of the History in 1870.
