La Chronica di Iacopo d’Acqui e il Devisement dou Monde di Marco Polo: una prima ricognizione
Abstract
The essay examines and comments on all the references to the Tartars found in the chronicle, which remains unpublished in its entirety, written by the Friar Preacher Iacopo d’Acqui before 1334. These Tartar-related inserts are largely drawn from Marco Polo’s Devisement dou Monde (specifically from a Latin version known as LB, though not exclusively from this source). However, some inserts pertain to Marco Polo’s biographical narrative but are not directly derived from his book.
