Best Practices for Drafting Reflective AI Usage Declarations in Language Teacher Education
Abstract
Drawing on current research on AI integration into language class planning, this study examines AI disclosure practices in teacher education and argues for the development of structured guidelines for declaration-making. It frames AI usage declarations as compliance tools and mechanisms for metacognitive reflection and professional growth. Proposing a framework grounded in the augmentation-substitution distinction, transparency-as-pedagogy, and AI literacy, it provides best-practice recommendations for designing reflective declaration templates that capture critical, adaptive human judgment in AI-assisted language lesson planning.
