Reporting on various undergone communication situations and communicative events the author provides pertinent examples of cultural differences between the Italian speaking community and the German speaking one, highlighting important German and Italian cultural values and their role in the intercultural communication.

The article describes the Italian author’s personal experiences during his Erasmus exchange at a German university under both, intercultural and linguistic aspects.
