Abstract
Anna Maria Ortese wrote about the journeys that marked her life in numerous articles published in various newspapers, which were later collected in the rich and fascinating volume La lente scura (The Dark Lens, 2004). This essay highlights the originality of her perspective, characterised by strong subjectivity, and the excellence of her precise and yet visionary writing.
