abstract
This volume in honour of Mario Sabattini, professor emeritus and one of the world’s foremost experts on the work of Zhu Guangqian and the introduction of Croceanism in China, inaugurates a new series dedicated to Chinese studies: Sinica venetiana. And what better start for the series than the homage paid to the man who was the director and protagonist of the process of re-founding Italian sinology from the 1970s onwards? This volume, which brings together over sixty writings by colleagues and students, is intended as a token of appreciation, esteem and gratitude offered to the scholar for the contribution he made to the scientific community, as well as an acknowledgement testifying to the debt that everyone owes to him.
