Abstract

The restoration and security improvement project at the Palazzo Ducale in Venice significantly deepened the understanding of facade building systems, especially vulnerable elements like battlements and pinnacles. Innovative techniques such as geo-radar provided detailed insights, enabling targeted restoration. New safety systems, including steel bars and reinforced mortars, were introduced, adhering to the principle of minimal intervention. The restoration adopted a critical approach, examining the building’s structural and historical aspects to preserve its integrity and readability, creating a digital archive for future conservation.
