Edited book | Cronache della Soprintendenza di Venezia. Attività e ricerche
Chapter | Breve storia di Venezia in pochi scatti
Abstract
This writing tells the most recent history of Venice through a selection of images taken between the end of the nineteenth century and the sixties of the last century – coming from important photographic collections preserved in city archives and museums – embellished with the ‘windows of life’ of an extraordinary Venetian street photographer: Luigi ‘Gigi’ Ferrigno. The latter, in particular, immortalized moments of daily life set in the city spaces of a minor and much loved Venice, and with great sensitivity and a breath of poetry he was able to capture its true soul, the most authentic and profound one, often forgotten or unexplored.
