Cure a casa: indicazioni di policy per innovare l’integrazione socio-sanitaria
abstract
Integrated care has become almost a buzzword at the top of health policy agendas. Internationally, the pressures over social and health care demand and supply call for taking integrated care forward and providing new approaches and strategies. A policy analysis on these issues is provided, exploring home care services for the elderly as a blueprint. The rst paragraph displays the scenario on the demand and supply of health and social care services. The second one sets up a theoretical framework for integrated care based on the literature and exploits it to compare four regional cases of homecare policies in the Italian National Health Service. Finally, the challenges and urgent interventions that policy makers will have to tackle the sooner to meet integrated care are discussed.
