dc.description.abstract	The chapter illustrates the main results of the survey addressed to the specialist doctors promoted by Sumai and administered between late 2012 and early 2013 in collaboration with the University Ca 'Foscari of Venice. After a preliminary reflection on the main features of the professional identity of specialist doctors, the contribution goes in to details. This survey gives back the first picture of self represented image and identity of specialist doctors enrolled in SUMAI trade union. Such outcomes identify current situation and outlines future trends in the short-medium term. Indeed, the scope of this work is to understand how the specialist doctors are experiencing present phase of change in their working environment and which are their perspectives for the coming years.
