It is appropriate to examine and check the elements listed below.

Title

• A good title is crucial for your book. The title should be short and clearly communicate the main theme and should be formulated by imagining how it can be searched for by other scholars within search engines or indexes.
• The subtitle can be more didactic and add useful information to frame the object.

Signature

• State your name, current and complete affiliation and email address, along with the same information for all other involved contributors.

Abstract

• Provide an abstract that effectively summarises your publication project and that can be read and understood in a completely self-sufficient form (it must not contain footnotes and bibliographic references).
• Enhance your proposal by clearly defining: the topic, the purpose of the study, the method by which it was conducted, the reasons for originality and innovation, the structure of the text, other useful complementary information. It must not exceed 2,000-2,100 characters (including spaces).

Main features

• Attach a table of contents from which the articulation of the text is clearly visible.
• Include a short list of the distinctive qualities and main characteristics of your book and translate them in some keywords that identify all the thematic elements covered.
• Demonstrate the solidity of the project by describing in a complete and effective way: the approach and purpose of the work, the primary and secondary sources, the main and original elements of the conclusions.

Word count

• Include preface, acknowledgments, footnotes, bibliography, and appendices.
• Do not include the table of contents.

Processing and publication times

• Indicate the date on which the manuscript will be available in its complete form.
• Indicate the date by which it would be useful or it is necessary for the volume to be published.
• Take into account the time required for the peer review and the revision of the text in the light of any requests from the reviewers.
• These deadlines will have to be defined with ECF, once your proposal has been accepted.

Peer review

• The complete manuscript usually undergoes a double blind review process under the responsibility of the Scientific Direction of the series, which will independently identify the reviewers.

Edited books

• Present a complete panorama of all essays included in the book and of their authors.
• Provide an abstract for each contribution.
• State the editing procedures you will adopt as editor of the book.

Iconographic set

• Provide a complete list of the illustrations describing their typology (photographs, drawings, maps, diagrams, graphs, tables, figures, etc.).
  
• Provide the list of captions where you clarify the source for each illustration and the subjects who hold the rights of publication.

Submission

Use this form to submit your proposal by attaching a preliminary version, partial or complete, of your manuscript. Select the desired book series from the appropriate drop-down list and fill in all fields.

Evaluation, adaptation to the Editorial guidelines and peer review process

The Scientific Direction will receive your proposal and will inform you if it has been accepted or not in the book series. If so, you will receive an email containing the instructions for accessing the publishing platform, in which you can upload the final and fully compliant version of the text, which will be peer-reviewed.

If the peer review is successful, and based on the decisions of the Scientific Direction, your work will be published.
