Abstract
This paper focuses on the PRIN 2022 project MEDITA, resulting from the collaboration of the University of Naples Federico II, the University Ca’ Foscari Venice and the Opera del Vocabolario Italiano (CNR, Florence). The project aims to build a textual knowledge base of non-literary Medieval Latin texts of the Italian area. In the first paragraph we describe the fundamental characteristics and main purposes of the project, then we dwell on the digital platform’s structure (§ 2) and on the articulation of the project and its units (§ 3). The conclusion (§ 4) focuses on the twofold purpose of the knowledge base integrated within the MED.ITA digital platform, showing both the relevance of Middle Latin practical texts for Romance lexicography and their linguistic value as an object of analysis in itself.
