Abstract
The training of LIS/LIST trainers, interpreters, and Communication Assistants presents several challenges in relation to the assessment of deafness and respect for the natural rights of the Deaf. There is a lack of clear guidelines on interpreter training within universities. Questions regarding the involvement of Deaf LIS teachers, as well as the training and recognition of Communication Assistants, remain unresolved. It is essential to expand the training content in line with European guidelines, including LIS descriptors (Complementary Volume of the CEFR), and to raise the level of trainer preparation.
