abstract

Business networks can give strength and substance to the concept of the supply chain, which is the cornerstone of the Italian production system. Thanks to its flexibility, the business network contract makes it possible to optimise the organisation of supply chains, to encourage the coordination of enterprises along the value chain through its governance tools, to improve business performance, starting by pooling complementary assets, human resources and skills. The development of integrated organisational and management models also fosters the evolution of networks in terms of new activities, partners, stakeholders, or even their transformation into more advanced joint business models or a new legal entity (company).
