Abstract
This volume presents the critical edition of the vernacular version of Piero della Francesca’s treatise on perspective. Based on the collation of all known manuscripts of the work, the edition offers elements on the textual genesis of the treatise (especially thanks to the study of the codex Regg. A 41/2 of the Biblioteca Panizzi in Reggio Emilia), showing how the autograph of the Biblioteca Palatina in Parma (MS Parm. 1576) bears a later drafting than the other codices. Photographic reproductions of Piero della Francesca’s drawings in the Palatine MS and a historical-linguistic glossary accompany the critical text.
