ECF adopts a transparent and rigorous editorial process. Each manuscript (except for exemptions described in specific journal and series policies) undergoes a blind or open review process, ensuring an impartial and qualified evaluation.
Peer Review Procedure: Submitted content is evaluated by expert and independent reviewers based on criteria of scientific rigor, originality, and integrity.
Transparency: Complete editorial procedures and guidelines are available in the “About Us” and “Publishing with Us” sections of our website.
2. Ethical Guidelines
Authors and reviewers must adhere to high ethical standards, in line with international regulations (e.g., COPE).
Integrity and Originality: Strict adherence to principles of transparency, plagiarism prevention, and disclosure of potential conflicts of interest is required.
Regulatory References: Ethical guidelines are available on our portal, where mechanisms for reporting misconduct are also outlined.
3. Reporting and Managing Issues
Readers and the scientific community are encouraged to report any errors or issues.
Direct Contact: Issues related to published content can be reported via email (ecf_support@unive.it).
Verification Procedures: Each report is promptly reviewed by a dedicated editorial committee to ensure maximum transparency and correctness.
4. Updates and Corrections
In our humanities field, integration and correction interventions aim to ensure maximum clarity and usability of the work. We do not consider it necessary to maintain the original version, as the updated version provides a unified and immediately updated format, clearly highlighting all modifications made.
Versioning and Archiving: The new updated version remains uniquely identified and linked through the same DOI, ensuring transparency and traceability of the editorial history.
5. Crossmark Implementation
ECF integrates Crossmark, the Crossref solution, to provide a standardized system that allows readers to verify the current version of the work.
Functionality: By clicking on the Crossmark button, users can access updated information about the document's status, including any updates, corrections, or retractions.
Scope of Application: The adoption of Crossmark applies exclusively to cases where the work—whether a monographic book, a single contribution in a collective volume, or a journal article—undergoes substantial modifications that significantly alter its content.
6. Policy Deposit
This policy is deposited as a dataset in the “Edizioni Ca’ Foscari Crossmark Policy Statement” database and is registered with a DOI.
Policy Updates: Any modifications to this policy will be promptly deposited and made public, ensuring continuous compliance with international standards.
