Carlos Gamerro and his Criticism of the Guerrilla Movement
Abstract
This article focuses on the recreation of the guerrilla experience in two novels by Carlos Gamerro, La aventura de los bustos de Eva (2004) and Un yankee en la columna del Che Guevara (2011). These two works offer a critique of revolutionary movements that sought to introduce social change through armed struggle. Gamerro belongs to a small group of novelists who communicates his critical vision in adventure novels, with improbable adventures, absurd episodes and ironic portrait of his characters. Despite this, the true drama of violence and fanaticism filters and emerges in the text.
