Abstract
The Italian intellectual Pier Maria Pasinetti left his Country during the 1930s to start a career as a writer and professor around Europe first, and then in the United States. Despite his cosmopolitan vocation, he always maintained a link with Italy through an intense journalistic work, during a period marked by historical changes. The aim of this article is to analyse the cultural engagement of the writer as an expatriate by studying a selected part of his correspondence with newspapers and other intellectuals.
