Abstract

This research is focused on the experience of the Soprintendenza with the legal procedures that allow to protect contemporary architecture according to the Heritage Protection Law, n. 42/2004, or to the Author’s Rights Law, n. 633/1941. The examples cited, peculiar cases related to minor local history, illustrate the Offices of the Adriatic Society for Electricity (SADE) in the 1950s (Offices of the Volpi Electric Plant in Marghera, Offices in rio Novo), the Pacinotti Technical High School with a complex iconographic program of inner decoration, a hotel extension in Nordic style at Quattro Fontane in Lido, the design of the Excelsior hotel in Lido, in the years 1964-68, the mosaics in the Church of Madonna del Divino Amore in Chioggia, the Cube of Bazzera at the AGIP gas station. The last example are the Vatican Chapels, for which an Author’s Right Protection was awarded.
