Abstract
The main content of this chapter is a discussion on the theoretical frameworks impacting current interpretations of the Cypriot archaeological record and Cypro-Aegean interaction. The real issues of the chapter include the concepts of ethnicity and collective, cultural and social memory, as well as a review of scholarly opinions on the concepts of insularity, connectivity and cross-cultural encounters.
