Chapter | 2 • Analisi del corpus
Abstract
In this section, we intend to identify the actual innovative reach of Cantacuzenus’s corpus and define its place in the trajectory of anti-Islamic literature from Byzantium. It is, in fact, easy to risk labeling Cantacuzenus’s work as solely derived from scholarly texts, thus understating the significance of the Apologiae and Orationes in the context of John VI's production.
