Abstract
The graphic novel is often presented as the best choice for the comic industry to achieve cultural legitimization of this media. This article analyses comic’s register, confirming its inherent legitimacy, questions the arguments provided by the critics to sustain the above mentioned choice and analyzes from different perspectives the Spanish comic industry in order to understand the influence of graphic novel in different areas of the sector.
