Fostering Strategic Management Approaches in Cross-Border Maritime Transport Systems Complexity
abstract
The increasing complexity of the interactions between passenger flows and travel infrastructures requires new analysis tools able to cope with such complexity by providing adequate predictions (or at least a description of travellers’ behaviour). This chapter proposes a different approach to evaluating the pivotal factors influencing cross-border traveller mobility behaviour. The analysis is conducted via application of the structural equation modelling research methodology on the structural associations of the theory of planned behaviour under theory extension endeavours with socio-ecological considerations.
