abstract

This paper analyses the full version of the comic strips of Marcello – Dante. La Divina Commedia a fumetti (2015) – according to two distinct but complementary theoretical approaches. The first part is inspired by the theories of parody suggested by Genette and Hutcheon and focuses on adaptation techniques (synthesis, actualisation) common to the parodic revival of a great classic of Western literature. In the path opened by intermedial (Higgins) and transmedia (Jenkins) studies, the second part explores some examples of independent transposition of Paradiso, favoured by the layering of the aesthetic codes of two distinct media (comics and TV).
