abstract

Through attacks on cultural heritage and the deliberate looting of archaeological sites on 5 continents, particularly in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and South-East Asia, terrorism thrives on fraudulent income and leaves behind the ruins of evidence from our shared history. This is the cultural haemorrhage that UNESCO and its partners face for decades and in a more prominent way nowadays.
