dc.description.abstract	Published in Venice in 1726 and edited by Luisa Bergalli, the two volumes of Componimenti poetici delle più illustri rimatrici d’ogni secolo represents an important example of women’s poetry anthology, since it is the first time that such a collection is edited by a woman and it is also the most vast one. Indeed, Bergalli inserts in her anthology Italian poetesses until the 1700, thus enlarging the perspective offered by the precedent anthologies edited by Ludovico Domenichi (1559) and Giambattista Recanati (1716). The latter was part of the Venetian Arcadian environment, erudite and poetic, inspired by the lesson of Apostolo Zeno, just as Luisa Bergalli. In Bergalli’s analysis it is clear the intention of demonstrating through examples the extensive presence of female poetry in the Italian literature and thus highlighting the importance of a ‘linea veneta’ within it and of which she felt she was part of.
