abstract
The power fight is an incessant topic in Rosario Castellanos’s narrative; here we consider it within the framework of the moral values of his time and society in Mexico (los Altos de Chiapas, 1935-45). The implicit axiological crisis permits us identify problems as: the rights to express the sexuality, the existence of a moral hierarchy inside the diverse social groups, and the complexities to interact between people who live in city and indigenous people. The latency of a social problem it’s a starting point for the narrator to investigate the techniques used by the characters to preserve and/or deal their rights.
