Research Article | The Ritualisation of Time in La Morte Rouge
Abstract
La Morte Rouge is an attempt that derives from the subject-author and from his own experience, as every kind of essayistic exercise. If the object of research is reality, the director’s memory is the medium through which his look analyzes. Here memory is considered as a field that is able to evoke the consciousness of world and life. According to Erice, the ritualization of time and space represents the essence of the creative process of a reflexive discourse through the work on images and sounds. Hence, to ritualize means thinking through memory to search for a true comprehension of the past and consequently of the present.
