Lina Meruane’s Decomposed Writing

Abstract

The work of the successful Chilean writer Lina Meruane has received little critical attention. Her novel Fruta podrida covers some of the most recurrent themes of her production: women, illness and centre/periphery relations. A theoretical analysis of this text is proposed from the notions of biopolitics and abject, but also from the formal strategies that pursue a decomposed and body writing.
