abstract

After analysing the typologies of associations of language teachers worldwide on the basis of their ideological foundation and of their main objectives, this article takes into account and describes some of them focusing, in the last section, on FIPLV (Fédération Internationale des Professeurs de Langues Vivantes), perhaps the largest of them all. In conclusion, this article hints at the new role the associations of language teachers should have in the post-pandemic world if they still want to survive and give their contribution to the promotion of language learning worldwide.
